Decades ago Ian Paisley was doing a follow-up tour of the US on the heals of successful tour by Gerry Adams. I called into a radio talk show and asked Mr. Paisley if he was afraid that,“Catholics would oppress you if they got the chance?” His knee jerk answer before he had a chance to think: “Yes!” In that light I think any good and stable re-unification of Ireland will need to address that fear. Therefore, it will probably not happen until years after the UK doesn't care and the demographics in NI make it apparent that a re-unification referendum would win. Hopefully the south uses that time to make things better and more ready for such a re-unification.
