I think Bloomberg will hurt Biden in Texas. Texas is notorious for low turnout in primaries (and low turnout overall) and I doubt many Texans watched the debates. Bloomberg screwed up by not committing to massively fund the entire party whether he won or lost. If he had made such a commitment and promised to appoint the runner up as VP and others as cabinet and to form a cabinet of rivals including certain moderate Republicans — a so-called national unity government — then he would be surging.
I live in Texas and already voted for Bernie.
I voted for McGovern when I was 18 yrs old.
I went early to Iowa to campaign for Dean.
I haven’t been involved with the Bernie grassroots efforts, though, because I have become cynical about the money power in politics and how it has only gotten worse and worse over time.
If Bernie wins the most delegates and doesn’t get the nomination or if he does get the nomination and Bloomberg doesn’t fully fund the party, then I have a sickening feeling that Trump could win again.
It’s been a life long slog, this fight against the oligarchs, and I am tired.
