Most people don’t realize it but during WWII we had the largest number of strikes in our history. The difference to now is that unemployment was lower and workers generally were better informed about labor unity and were unwilling to be scabs ( someone willing to take the job of a striking worker ). If unemployment remains high some kind of UBI will have to kick in to avoid general social unrest. With a UBI support in place, strikes would be much more effective. This is one reason UBI is so hated by the ruling class. With UBI and strike power workers can demand a higher share of profits and therefore crony capitalists would get replaced by real capitalists who actually produce general wealth instead of just manipulating a corrupt monetary system to give themselves 0% interest loans and bailouts.
