Do you think it possible that the principle of the government bonds the Fed bought as part of QE will be returned to the Treasury as opposed to being extinguished? Since the deflationary effect of extinguish-ment could be offset by simply engaging in more QE, do you think that the Fed would ever be so desperate to push against deflation as to actually return the principle of such bonds to the government?
