Oh well, I guessed wrong, but that is because I was already rich when I started teaching so the money/supplies thing didn’t phase me. What bugged me is that other teachers, out of jealousy, and administers out of head up their assitus, constantly bitched and complained about the most awesome token economy I ran in my class which allowed for total student self-governace. It cost me money but it made teaching fun and I never had any discipline problems until the “adults” refused to let me have a democracy in my classroom instead of an authoritarian regime. I found most teachers who had been in the system a long time to be petty sniviling dictators who only knew how to kowtow to their superiors and lord over their students--a toxic environment which corrupts the spirits of both teachers and students.
