The key to enlightenment is to break out of dualism. Where does your anger go when it receeds? Does it cease to exist? The answer is simple: The unlimited potentiality (in Japanese called “Ku”) of all phenomena cannot be dualistically described in terms of existence versus non-existence; and all existence has dependent origination. These basic Buddhist concepts don’t negate an overarching function that pantheists would call God, but personification of that concept as a “creator” thrusts one back into dualistic thinking with all it’s attendant philosophical insufficiencies.
